What is Spam and Virus Filtering?
Spam and virus filtering is a front end unit that scans all incoming email and scans the email for known and likely forms of spam and virus', before the customers email server.
How does Spam/Virus filtering work and what does it do for me?
Our spam filtering service is done through our servers. Your email is routed through our Spam/Virus filtering server, which is then forwarded onto your company's or personal email server. This helps you or your company reduce the cost of maintenance and software/hardware purchases and software renewals. You are not required to install any special software on your workstations or servers, thus eliminating the need for training of any current IT or office staff on the use of the spam/virus filter.
What if an email is falsely flagged as spam?
If an email is falsely flagged as spam, you can at any time send an email to Onset IT's staff and within 24 Hours we can/will release them from being flagged as Spam.
Our spam/virus filtering services comes with an included option of a "whitelist." The Whitelist is a list of domains or email addresses that you deem as non-spam and have given your consent to bypass the filtering service. There is no charge for this service, just simply email the support staff the email or domain address and we will gladly add it to your whitelist.
What if something is Spam, and it is not caught?
We do not anticipate this happening too often, as our system is 98% effective in catching all spam/virus submissions that may come into our filtering service. However, if for some reason one does penetrate the filter, we have the ability to add that domain or email address to what is known as a "blacklist." The Blacklist definitively defines any domain or address that is listed in it as spam. Once placed in this list all submissions from this person or company will be denied or placed in your spam junk email box.
Submissions to this list can be completed at any time for any name or domain that you choose. You would simply email Onset IT's staff requesting the email address or domain be added to your company's blacklist, within 24 hours your submission would be completed.
